We began our “Chick Unit” this week. We will have eggs incubating in our room from April 14th until they hatch approximately 21 days later on May 5th. This is an exciting unit for the children. You will be amazed at how much they learn about chickens. Please remember to ask your child what he/she learned each day. Many of our projects will be available for you to see at our Open House on April 23th.

One of the projects we will be doing requires egg shells. Please save any you use at home and send them to school. We need the ones that are left after cracking an egg open for baking or breakfast not pieces from a hard boiled egg. They need to be cleaned well and wrapped carefully so they won't break into little pieces. You can send them as soon as you have any. Thanks!

We just finished reading our latest anthology. Your child is bringing it home today along with a set of vocabulary words from Theme 8. You may keep the book until April 24th. Please read over the stories with your child. We will be starting a new book in class on Monday.

We will be reading When I Am Old With You from our anthology. There is also a technology link about inventions called Inventions Then and Now.
