Math
We just finished Topic 11 which dealt with
subtracting tens from a two-digit number, such as, 70-20=50.
On Thursday, we will be starting Topic 12, which focuses on measurement.
Salman will be the “student of the week “ next week.
Reading
This week we read
the fable of The
Tortoise and the Hare. We
discussed the elements of a fable (characters, problem, and moral/lesson) and
wrote them on a chart. We also compared
this fable to The Ugly Duckling.
The

Comprehension Skills
For the month of March we are focusing
on visualizing skills. We read the poem
called, “My
Neighbor’s Dog is Purple” and drew a picture half-way through the
story, and then again at the end. They
shared their pictures with the rest of the class. It was very interesting.

sound. We will also review base words
and the endings –ed and –ing.
