Jurica Museum Field Trip
During the week of May 16th , all 1st grade classrooms will be taking a field trip to the Jurica Museum in Lisle. Since the museum isn't big enough for the entire grade to go together, we will be going on different days. Our class will be going on Monday, May 16th. We will be leaving school at 9:10 and will be returning around 11:45. We will be eating lunch at school as usual.
I need 4 chaperones to help out with this trip. If you would like to go on this trip with us, please send me a note or an e-mail and I will get back to you. Thanks.
Our chicks starting hatching on Monday. One chick hatched during the day. The others hatched later that night and into the next day. We had a total of 8 chicks hatch.
The children seemed to enjoy this unit and have learned a great deal. The chicks will be leaving on Friday, but several of them will be returning weekly, thanks to Mrs. Fish. We will observe any changes that have taken place since they were gone.
Reading
In our anthology we will read Fireflies for Nathan and The Firefly.

We will be working on summarizing, sequencing, and reading a poem.
