Our chicks are due to hatch on Monday or Tuesday of next week. I'm sure you'll hear about it when they do:)
In math, we have been working on counting pennies, nickels, dimes, & quarters. One of the best ways to learn this concept is to use money on a daily basis. Give your child a handful of coins & help him/her to count them. Start out with all pennies, all nickels, all dimes, etc. Then put 2 types of coins together. If they can do that, then try 3 different kinds of coins. Happy counting!
The boys got to work using the laptops this week. We played the game called “Coin Critters” in computers this week. It starts out by having the children click on the heads up coins of pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, & half dollars. The game progressively gets more difficult. Some children had difficulty identifying the coins while others were able to count the total amount of a given set of coins. Keep practicing at home please.
Next week we will read Two Greedy Bears and a Math Link, Fraction Action.
