Ide Open House/Book Fair
Our Open House/Book Fair will be held on Thursday, April 28 . All family members are welcome to come to it. We hope to see you there.
Reading Incentive
As a part of our reading incentive, April 29th will be “Keep a Poem in Your Pocket Day.” The children should bring a short poem to keep in their pocket. During the day they will be allowed to pull it out and read it to a friend.

ick Update
Our chicks are alive and doing well. We have nine eggs in our incubator. We candled the eggs on Monday and also on Thursday. We were able to see the veins and the embryos much better on Thursday. The children were very excited about it. Ask your child to tell you about it.
Reading
We will be reading The Surprise Family and Watch Them Grow.
Comprehension Strategies
We will work on questioning, comparing/contrasting, and making generalizations.
Vocabulary Words
The vocabulary words for next week are: built, chickens, danger, expected, feathers, gathered, gizzards, taught, vacuum cleaner, & bird words
Phonics Skills
We will work on vowel pairs; oy, oi, aw, au, suffixes: -ful, -ly, -y, base words, and prefixes.
