December 10th Newsletter

Reading Books
We completed our second reading book on Thursday. I will be sending it home soon. Please listen to your child read the stories and help him/her with any unknown words. Practicing reading is very important at this age. Please return the book on (or before) January 3rd. Thanks.





Author of the Month
We explored the Chris VanAllsburg website and played some of the games on it. The children enjoyed the memory game and the puzzles. If you would like your child to play some of these games at home, you may go to

In math, we have been working on reading graphs – bar, picture, & concrete graphs. We also played some games in the computer lab to go along with this concept.






Holiday Party
Your child can bring in the book for our book exchange anytime. We will be exchanging books during our holiday party which will be on Friday, December 17th from 2:00-3:00.



Reading
We will be reading the following stories: Moving Day and Hermit Crabs.


Comprehension Strategies
We will be working on comparing and contrasting.
